A resilient sisterhood of female rangers challenges societal norms and economic obstacles in Uganda’s Bwindi National Park. Empowered to protect endangered biodiversity, particularly mountain gorillas, their strong commitment stands as proof of the transformative role of women in wildlife conservation. Their dedication not only fosters community support but also aspires to ignite the passion of future generations.

DIRECTOR`S NOTE

Since my childhood, I dreamed of witnessing mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. This was the spark that brought this cinematic journey to life.

For seven days, I ventured alone into the remote beauty of Nkuringo, Uganda, to immerse myself in the lives of the female rangers who protect the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This unique experience added an extra layer of authenticity and proximity to the narrative; it allowed me not only to observe but to understand their challenges and share their dedication.

What began as a short film about gorilla conservation soon transformed into a deeper exploration of human connection and the power of sisterhood. I was impressed by the teamwork and solidarity among these women, viewed as heroes in their community, and respected for their commitment.

With each shot, each conversation, each shared laugh, I discovered the true essence of this project: it is not just about preserving biodiversity, but about weaving bonds of love and unity between humanity and nature.
